Properties：It is is a light yellow liquid with a smell resembling chloroform. Melting point: -103.99℃; Boiling point: 131.18℃; Relative density: 1.001 (20/4℃); Refractive index: 1.4016；Flash point (closed cup): 49℃. 1-Nitropropane can be mixed with alcohol, ether and other organic solvents, slightly soluble in water.

Uses：1-Nitropropane mainly used as solvent and intermediate, jet engine fuel, spray, etc.
(1) As a solvent, 1-Nitropropane has strong solubility to alcohols, ketones, ethers, esters, dyes, greases, waxes, resins and synthetic rubber. It is a strong solvent for acetic acid fibers when used with alcohol, and can be used to dissolve triacetic acid fibers with alcohol and awn hydrocarbons instead of chlorinated hydrocarbons. As a low temperature solvent, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer can be dissolved, and nitric acid fibers can also be dissolved.
(2) Hydroxylamine sulfate and propionic acid can be obtained by hydrolyzing nitropropane and methane in the presence of sulfuric acid as intermediates of chemical products such as amines, hydroxylamines, nitrohydroxyl compounds and nitroalkanes chloride. It is used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce ethambutyl hydrochloride, an anti-tuberculosis drug.
