Properties
1,2-Dimethoxyethane is a colorless flammable liquid with strong ether odor. Melting point: -69, Boiling point: 84~86, Freezing point: -58, Flash point: -6. It can be miscible with water and alcohol, soluble in Hydrocarbon solvents. It is stable, not easy to react, but in the presence of high temperature acid catalyst, decomposition will occur. Under the action of oxygen, peroxides are generated. Light and heat promote the generation of peroxides, which are unstable and decompose into aldehydes, ketones, acids and other impurities.
