Properties:Lithium bis(oxalato)borate (LiBOB) is a white crystalline powder, highly soluble in water and also soluble in certain organic solvents such as carbonates, tetrahydrofuran (THF), acetone, and alcohols. This product is extremely sensitive to water: when exposed to humid environments, it rapidly absorbs moisture and undergoes a spontaneous irreversible hydrolysis reaction, first forming a monohydrate and then gradually converting into a stable dihydrate. During the moisture absorption process, its mass continuously increases accompanied by the formation of hydrolysis products, which are difficult to eliminate even at 130℃, and simple drying cannot fully restore its performance. Meanwhile, it exhibits good thermal stability with a thermal decomposition temperature of up to 300℃.
Applications:Lithiumbis(oxalate)borate (LiBOB) is an electrolyte-type lithium battery additive, mainly used in lithium manganate system batteries, as it can significantly inhibit the dissolution of manganese in lithium manganate and ternary manganese-doped batteries. It is a film-forming additive for lithium batteries. At the cathode interface, it can make the solid electrolyte interface film (SEI) form a structure rich in boron and oxygen, significantly slowing down the oxidation reaction of the electrolyte and the loss of transition metal ions. At the anode interface, it can also promote the enrichment of boron and oxygen in the SEI film, thereby increasing the migration rate of lithium ions, reducing the diffusion energy barrier for lithium ion transport, and thus improving the rate performance and specific capacity of the battery, enhancing the battery's stability, and extending the battery's service life.
Storage:This product is highly hygroscopic. It should be stored in a sealed container and protected with inert gases such as nitrogen. It is recommended to store it in a cool, well-ventilated and dry environment, and the storage temperature should be below 35℃. The shelf life is six months.
